On October 22, Synaptic AP employees took part in the annual ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ walk in Baltimore, Maryland. Each year, the American Cancer Society puts on Making Strides events across the nation to raise awareness about breast cancer and bring in donations. Making Strides walks, according to ACS, “bring people together to make a difference for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer.”

The Baltimore event managed to raise almost $200K dollars from multiple companies and organizations in the area. The money will fund innovative research, provide people with free information and support, and help people reduce their risk of breast cancer.

Kim Leitch and son, Lisa Kouroupis and niece, and Ashley Nelson ready to start the walk.

Lisa Kouroupis, Director of Finance, Kim Leitch, Human Resources Manager, and Mike Boosinger, VP of Delivery and Operations, are some of the Synaptic AP employees who attended the event. They participated in the three-to-five-mile walk.

“The Making Strides walk day was fantastic! Not only was it so fun to get out of the office and into nature with my coworkers, family, and friends, but coming together to support the fight against breast cancer really spoke volumes on a personal level,” said Kim Leitch. “My mother-in-law beat breast cancer last year. Being a part of a company where improving the lives and health of others is weaved into the corporate fabric makes me feel like I’m not just making a difference by myself, but that I’m on a team of coworkers whom I consider family.”

“We strive to be a company that plays an active role in improving the health and well-being of our employees and our community,” said Tom Boosinger, CEO of Synaptic AP. “We hope our participation in the Making Strides event helped make at least a small difference in the fight against breast cancer.”

Synaptic AP also participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Stuart, Florida.
